Chuck Palmer, retired Lt.Col. in the Marines for 23 years, with his primary specialty in missile maintenance and air intercept control systems. He spent a 5 year period as a disbursing (payroll) officer during the late 60’s, early 70’s. Part of that time, was spent getting the troops paid from an overseas command in Okinawa, Japan. He will share his experience on how they would disburse payroll to the marines, usually in cash and with armed guards. Come listen to some interesting stories of the very different way that payroll used to be done and from a military perspective.
